October Newsletter

Hi everyone I hope this finds you all well and sewing up a storm. Another month has gone by. I have many new things and some changes to report. : ) Here we go!! Be sure to mark your calendar for my 1 year anniversary onNovember 12th-15th. I will have some great giveaways from fabric companies, goody bags and a nice raffle prize from me. It's a 32" LED TV. With every $25.00 purchase you get a ticket into the TV drawing. I will start collecting tickets in October. Can you believe it is almost a year already. The Fabric companies have already started sending me the door prize giveaways. I think you will be happy. The fabric in the sale room is looking pretty good as some of you have already seen. The cost is $7.00 a yard. I am slowly adding some other items. I am discontinuing all the yarn and crochet books & hooks. So if you need yarn come on by and take a look. Vannas Choice yarn is $2.99 a skein. One of the new fabric additions in the shop are American made Brand Solids. They are fully American made right from the growing of the cotton to the making of the fabric. The cost is $7.99 a yard just like the other solids. So far I have 20 colors as of right now. I will receive 10 new bolts per month until I have them all. I made a table runner out of the Autumn Glow fabric using Karen Montgomery's pattern Easy Striped Table Runner Pattern. Out of the fabric they recommend you can make the table runner and 2 placemats. It is really easy with only 5 seams to sew. From Wilmington Fabrics I have some nice 2 1/2" strip in different color packs coming. They are smaller 20 count packages. Come on in and see the samples. I also have some Halloween buttons. Spiders, bats, pumpkins, Candy Corn and ghosts. They are so cute. Don't miss the tropical buttons like palm trees, and flip flops. ***I will run a sale on all Halloween fabric starting now until Halloween of 15% off. So if a yard of this fabrics regular price is $10.99 it will cost you $9.34 per yard.***

Easy Striped Table Runner $9.00 Autumn Glow Easy Striped Table Runner American Made Soilds

I had a visit from my sales reps from Robert Kaufman and he showed me some collections that I think you will like. They will start arriving in the shop in November. From Northcott I have all the colors of Shimmer 2 1/2" stripes from which I made a small sample quilt (see below). It isn't done yet just needs a back. I also have the 5" charms of shimmer. You get 40 stripes for $40.00 or 40 charms for $20.00. The turtle quilt is a new pattern I just got in the shop. I have not tried it yet but isn't it cute.   A new addition to the shop is precut and ready to go panels. So when you want a panel (cheater) you can select one precut on the wall using the corresponding number for easy selection. You don't have to wait for us to cut them. There will be wall hangings, 4 piece placemats, and aprons. I now take debit cards for your convenience as a form of payment along with Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.   I am making a change to the Quild discount. I have decided to give the guild memebers a discount of 10% off everything they purchase instead of the 15% off only the regular priced items not the sale room. Pam's Fabric Nook Newsletter February

Happy Valentines Day to Everyone.

Well another month has gone by. We are glad to see all our visitors from the north are returning. We are enjoying the time we spend with everyone helping find colors and seeing projects you are working on at the time.
I have a lot of new fabric arriving in the shop. The latest is called Artistic Spirit Shimmer by Northcott. It has a metallic shine to it that makes the fabric look like it really is shimmering. Also from Northcott is Toscana, this is an almost marbled fabric which comes in many colors. I also received some new novelties from Timeless Treasures that include Baseballs, Footballs, Pool Balls, Sandals, Flamingos, Florida Flamingo, sand, shells, and more. I have bingo, playing cards and more on their way soon. From Wilmington Fabrics I have some really nice apron panels with matching Placemats, wall-hanging panels with a coordinate to each collection that can be used on the back or as an accent. Alex Anderson has a new collection coming out in April by RJR Fabrics called Flutter. OH! The Batiks by Jinny Beyer are beautiful. She is known for her rich dark colors and she doesn't disappoint with these. There will also be some batik charms with her collection. I have them all coming.
 

Don't miss out on my $5.00 a yard table full of fabric. I am making room for the wonderful new fabrics that are on their way. I need your help in making this room. There are some nice fabrics for you to see. Some are going fast. Come on in and take a look before the one you might want is gone.

Plain & Fancy Block of the Month Block 1 is ready. They can be picked up now. Preorder your kit for Block 2 now the cost is $22.00 per kit or you can preorder all the fabric with the pattern to make the whole quilt top for $198.00.

Block of the Month #2
Daydreams Block of the month Blocks 1,2 and pattern is ready to be picked up for $54.00. The rest of the blocks will cost $24.00 per month to finish the quilt top. You can order the whole quilt top at once in a full kit for $174.00. I have 1 full kit cut and ready to go.

Beginner Quilting - Teacher: Pam

The goal of this class is to teach you how to construct the quilt blocks using the book "Start Quilting" by Alex Anderson and create a small throw size quilt. You will learn how to use the tools and sewing machine to piece your blocks and assemble them into a quilt top ready for quilting. There will be some homework blocks to make so we can get the sampler finished. If at the end of 5 weeks we need more time we can add another class for $15.00. There will be some supplies needed for this class which you can purchase from the store with a discount of 10% off.

This will be an easy table runner that you can make for 2 holidays or seasons or any fabrics you like and any size you like. One on each side so you can reverse it to use both sides. The size will be 10 x 42 but you can make it bigger if you like.

I have just added the shop calendar below. Modern Crazy Quilting Class is today from 10am to 2pm. I will post some pictures of their work when it is over. The calendar shows shop hours and any upcoming classes. We have open sew in the afternoon on Wednesdays 1pm to 4pm. Come on over and sew those projects that you want to finish.

Grand Opening

The grand opening was Nov 12th 2013 from 10am to 5 pm. We had 66 people come through. I also want to thank everyone for coming and congratulations to all the winners of the fabric giveaway from Robert Kaufman Fabrics. Wr look forward to serving you again.   : )
